Would Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Join Manchester United? Paul Parker Issues Transfer Advice

Transfer discussion around Manchester United has intensified after former defender Paul Parker suggested that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could represent a significant upgrade in attack. However, he also cautioned that convincing the winger to leave Paris Saint-Germain might prove challenging.

United already spent heavily strengthening their forward line during the summer of 2025. The club secured proven Premier League talent by bringing in Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £62.5 million ($83m), while also landing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford FC in a deal initially worth £65 million ($86m).

Mbeumo has produced 10 goals and three assists in his first season at Old Trafford, while Cunha has scored six times and set up two more. Both players are still expected to offer further progress as their time with the club continues.

Despite those additions, United may still explore more attacking options when the next transfer window arrives. The team requires greater creativity and supply for Benjamin Sesko, who has recently hit strong form with seven goals in his last nine outings.

Kvaratskhelia could offer additional flair and direct play out wide. At 25 years old, the Georgian winger is still approaching his peak years. Financial flexibility for another left-sided attacker could emerge if Marcus Rashford completes a permanent switch to FC Barcelona after his loan spell.

Parker believes pursuing the PSG attacker would be logical. Speaking in association with Uudert Kasinot, he explained that Kvaratskhelia possesses the qualities needed to thrive at United.

“He is unbelievable and would be a great signing for United, without a shadow of a doubt,” Parker said.

However, he also raised doubts about whether the winger would want to leave Paris. Having the possibility of becoming a back-to-back Champions League winner could influence his decision. Parker suggested the player might either remain satisfied in France or decide to challenge himself in another league after establishing his reputation there.

The former defender emphasized Kvaratskhelia’s work rate and attacking quality, noting that he would bring greater threat on the left flank than Cunha.

Recent reports have hinted that the Georgian attacker could feel somewhat unsettled in Paris. Some teammates are said to have criticized him for “playing by himself,” leading to frustration within the squad.

Another factor relates to his position on the pitch. Under manager Luis Enrique, Kvaratskhelia has occasionally been used on the right wing, despite preferring to operate on the left. These developments have contributed to speculation that United are monitoring the situation.

Even so, the player has publicly spoken positively about life in the French capital. In an interview with Le Parisien, he described Paris as an extraordinary place and revealed that joining PSG was particularly exciting for his wife.

He also admitted that he once believed playing for the club would be difficult because of the presence of stars such as Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. Nevertheless, he expressed admiration for the city and its people.

Any move would require a substantial financial commitment. PSG paid €70 million (£60m/$80m) to sign Kvaratskhelia from SSC Napoli in January 2025.

Since arriving, he has helped the club capture the Ligue 1 title, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup. Across 67 appearances, he has scored 19 goals.

If PSG were ever willing to listen to offers, interest from multiple clubs would likely follow. In that situation, Manchester United would need to determine whether Old Trafford is the right destination for the Georgian star
