Pep Guardiola wants to quit Man City

Pep Guardiola has vowed to leave Manchester City when he thinks he no longer benefits the club.

City have lost five of their previous six games, including the longest losing streak in Guardiola's history, and drew with Feyenoord on Tuesday after leading by three goals.

However, Guardiola, who signed a new contract last week, said that managers at teams like City are in "trouble" if they cease winning because they cannot "cry all the time" that Rodri is injured.

He said, "No whining, accusing, pointing fingers, or avoiding responsibilities. I am aware that if you do not win, you will be in danger.

"People rely on me; it is unusual for major clubs to get such results, but you must accept it. The instant I feel I am not certain about the club, another one will come around, but I want the opportunity.

"I want the opportunity to attempt it, and I want to develop the club in various ways from now until the conclusion of the season and in the following seasons. I ask for that task and the opportunity to complete it."

Guardiola said that it is up to him to prove himself again as he attempts to turn City's season around.

"It proves how we are as sportsmen and competitors," he said afterwards. "It's easier when you've won 10 or 12 games in a row and everyone is fit and in top form. I need to prove myself now. I need to find a solution and a means to achieve it, and I'm trying every day."

If City lose at Anfield on Sunday, they would fall 11 points behind Liverpool, and Guardiola has stated that they cannot consider winning the Premier League championship right now.

"In the situation we have it's not realistic to think about big targets," according to him. "The situation is to think about one game and build the momentum to continue."
