Ruben Amorim reacts to Leny Yoro's long-awaited Manchester United debut

Ruben Amorim was thrilled when Leny Yoro made his long-awaited Manchester United debut in Wednesday's loss to Arsenal.

The summer acquisition had been out since undergoing surgery for a foot injury sustained against the Gunners during preseason, but he returned to competitive action at the Emirates Stadium.

Amorim suffered his first loss in command of the Red Devils, as the hosts won 2-0.

Arsenal's set-piece dominance continued as Jurrien Timber and William Saliba headed in from corners, while David Raya made a wonderful save to deny Matthijs De Ligt.

The United manager must now prepare his team for Saturday's match against Nottingham Forest.

Amorim's squad is now 11th in the Premier League, although due to the packed structure of the standings, they are just four points behind the top five teams.

Yoro, regarded as one of Europe's top young centre-backs, replaced Harry Maguire with about half an hour remaining in north London, and Amorim was happy with what he saw.

"You can feel it, the talent, the speed, the way he handled one against ones in a difficult stadium after a lot of time without playing," he told talkSPORT.

The 19-year-old will seek to speed up his return to full health when Forest visit Old Trafford on Saturday.

Amorim has hinted at changes for that game, citing the busy fixture schedule: "It is difficult to play with the same team right now.
