Everton vs Man United: Fernandes DEFENDS Amorim's critique, FIRES warning to team-mates — 'We need to wake up!'

Bruno Fernandes defended Ruben Amorim as the manager criticized Manchester United players following their draw against Everton.

United trailed by two goals as they returned to the changing room after the break. Fernandes' magnificent free-kick got the team into the game, and Manuel Ugarte's first goal for the Red Devils secured them a hard-fought draw against Everton in their penultimate encounter at Goodison Park. Manager Amorim did not mince words after the game, slamming his players for a disastrous first-half effort.

At the end of the game, captain Fernandes was asked about the club's two set-piece goals, to which he replied: "We need to score more from these situations." We must be more active and understand our situations while attacking. We scored from two set pieces today, which is clearly very excellent, but we need to improve significantly if we are to get out of this scenario. We must be conscious that our current condition is quite awful."

The Portuguese midfielder also defended Amorim's attack on the players, saying: "We are in a pretty horrible league position, and we are doing extremely awful. It's typical for him to say something that generates headlines because that's how it is at Manchester United. I've been here a long time, and we need to realize how horrible things are. We shouldn't need the manager to say anything in order to improve to the level that the management expects."

Amorim's team will return to action on February 26 when they play Ipswich Town at Old Trafford in a key Premier League match.
