His appointment is expected to be finalized soon, with his focus immediately shifting towards enhancing Mikel Arteta’s squad for the upcoming season. With no concerns over breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations, Arsenal are primed to make significant investments.

‎The 53-year-old Italian is reportedly targeting reinforcements in several key areas, including a backup goalkeeper, left-back, defensive midfielder, left-winger, striker, and additional cover for star player Bukayo Saka. A versatile central midfielder could also be added to further solidify the squad’s depth.

‎One of Arsenal’s primary targets this summer is Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi. The Gunners are reportedly keen to trigger the £51 million ($66m) release clause in the Spain international’s contract, with Berta viewing Zubimendi as a crucial addition to the team’s midfield engine. The club is also monitoring Athletic Club’s Nico Williams and Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, both of whom could feature in Arsenal’s summer transfer plans.
