Following a challenging start to the 2024-25 Premier League season, both clubs are looking to bolster their squads during the upcoming summer transfer window. According to reports from A Bola, both Premier League giants have expressed serious interest in Trincao and are ready to engage in a bidding war to land the Portuguese talent.

Trincao joined Sporting CP on loan from Barcelona in the summer of 2022, and his move was made permanent in 2023. The winger’s arrival was a result of key efforts from then-manager Ruben Amorim and Sporting's sporting director Hugo Viana, both of whom played pivotal roles in bringing Trincao to the Portuguese club. Amorim now manages Manchester United, while Viana is set to take up the role of director of football at Manchester City in the near future.

Before his time in Portugal, Trincao spent a season in the Premier League with Wolverhampton Wanderers after joining from Barcelona for the 2021-22 campaign. Now at 25 years old, the winger has had an impressive 2024-25 season, making 40 appearances across all competitions, scoring nine goals, and providing 13 assists.

As English clubs continue to show significant interest, Sporting CP are reportedly preparing to offer Trincao a new contract in an effort to keep hold of one of their standout performers this season.
