‎Carlo Ancelotti to leave Real Madrid for Brazil head coach role after 2024 season‎

‎Real Madrid’s decorated manager Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly preparing for a new chapter in his illustrious coaching career, with The Athletic reporting that the Italian tactician will step down at the end of the 2023–24 season to become the next head coach of Brazil’s national team.

‎Ancelotti has allegedly informed members of the Real Madrid dressing room of his intention to depart after the current campaign concludes. Though his contract runs through 2026, sources suggest he will not continue beyond June, opting instead to embark on an international venture with Brazil.
‎The move marks a significant shift for Ancelotti, who has experienced immense success in his second spell with Los Blancos. Since returning to the Spanish capital in 2021, he has guided Madrid to numerous trophies, including a Champions League title and La Liga crown. Yet this season has proven more challenging, with the team faltering in key domestic competitions. Most recently, Madrid suffered a painful Copa del Rey final defeat to rivals Barcelona.
‎Amid persistent links to former Real Madrid midfielder and current Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso as a possible successor, the decision appears timely. Ancelotti is not expected to lead Madrid into the expanded FIFA Club World Cup this summer, with his Brazil duties anticipated to begin shortly after the current season ends.
‎With a farewell to Madrid looming, Ancelotti will aim to finish strong, starting with a crucial La Liga clash against Celta Vigo next weekend. As one era ends, another is set to begin—this time on the global stage with the five-time world champions.
