Liverpool urged to sign Harry Kane to replace Mohamed Salah if he leaves this summer

‎Former Liverpool star Joe Cole has called on the club to pursue England captain Harry Kane as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, should the Egyptian winger leave Anfield this summer. With Salah's contract set to expire at the end of the current season and no extension yet on the table, the future of the Reds' star forward remains uncertain.

‎Cole, who made a name for himself at both Chelsea and Liverpool, believes that signing Kane would send a strong message and would be a solid move for Liverpool. Speaking to Paddy Power, Cole emphasized the need for a “statement footballer” to replace Salah, highlighting Kane’s goal-scoring prowess and ability to win trophies as key attributes that would benefit Jurgen Klopp's side.
‎Since joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham in 2023, Kane has been performing admirably, but his name has again surfaced in the transfer gossip with a potential return to the Premier League. Kane’s ambition to break Alan Shearer’s record for the most goals in the Premier League could be a driving factor in his decision to move back to England.
‎Cole acknowledged the competition for Kane’s signature, pointing to top-flight rivals Arsenal and Chelsea as potential suitors. He noted, “If Mo Salah leaves, Liverpool will need a statement footballer, and Kane would be perfect for that role. However, Arsenal and Chelsea, both in need of a new striker, could make a move for him, which would send shockwaves through North London.”
‎With Liverpool's priority being to secure an extension with Salah, the club could turn to the summer transfer window to sign a world-class forward if the Egyptian decides to move on. Kane’s potential move to Anfield would not only bolster Liverpool's attacking options but also reinforce their pursuit of top-tier silverware in the coming seasons.
