Arteta urges 'solutions, not problems' as Arsenal plans trophy push in 2025 season review

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has set a determined tone ahead of the club's end-of-season performance review, insisting that "solutions, not problems" must drive the planning process as the Gunners seek to end their long-standing trophy drought in the 2024/25 campaign.

‎With Arsenal poised to finish third in the Premier League for the third consecutive year, the gap to the title remains a key concern for the club hierarchy. Arteta, who has guided the team to consistent Champions League qualification but fallen short in silverware, is expected to spearhead a detailed review with senior staff next week.
‎“Our performance review goes every two months,” said Arteta during a press briefing. “That is the way we do it. Then we will see next week here with everybody that is involved. We will do everything that we planned and what actually happened.”
‎The Spanish tactician emphasized the need for clarity, shared vision, and accountability. “I will take all that and go to Spain, somewhere very quiet, and start to go through that with some ideas that I already have, with some learnings that I already took,” Arteta explained. “It’s about putting that into a plan, into a vision that you can immediately start to pass into all the staff.”
‎One of the central pillars of that vision is recruitment. Arsenal’s transfer strategy has already become a focal point, with the club keen to bolster its attacking line. RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško has emerged as a key summer target, underlining the club’s intent to add firepower capable of bridging the gap to Manchester City and other title rivals.
‎Arteta’s mantra — "bring solutions, not the problem" — reflects the collaborative yet demanding culture he has cultivated at the Emirates. “Give arguments, make sure that the context that you are saying it is not for your own benefit, but is for the benefit of all of them,” he said. “Then bring solutions, not the problem.”
‎With the 2024/25 campaign viewed as a crucial opportunity to translate stability into silverware, Arsenal’s leadership knows that decisive summer planning — both tactically and in the transfer market — will be essential.
‎Arsenal will conclude their Premier League season at Southampton on Sunday, after which Arteta will begin his offseason preparations. A comprehensive performance review, strategic planning, and culture reinforcement will be key as Arsenal seeks to end a two-decade wait for the Premier League title.
