‎Alejandro Garnacho eyes Chelsea move over Napoli amid Manchester United exit talks

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is reportedly keen on securing a transfer to Premier League rivals Chelsea rather than Italian giants Napoli, as the Argentine star faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford.

‎According to a new report from The Sun, Garnacho has accepted that his time at Manchester United is effectively over following a directive from incoming manager Ruben Amorim, who has made it clear that the 19-year-old is not part of his long-term plans. Despite links to Serie A, the highly rated winger is determined to remain in England and is targeting a switch to Chelsea.
‎Chelsea have emerged as serious contenders for Garnacho’s signature after his representatives were spotted at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season. The Blues are believed to be monitoring the situation closely as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
‎The Argentina international, currently valued at around £50 million ($67 million), is still under contract with Manchester United until 2028. However, tensions have escalated in recent weeks following United’s disappointing Europa League final loss — a result Garnacho publicly criticized, describing the club’s season as “sh*t.”
‎The 19-year-old’s dissatisfaction with United’s direction, coupled with Amorim’s strategic overhaul, has accelerated talks of a potential departure. Napoli have long admired Garnacho’s flair and explosiveness, but it now appears the winger’s preference is to stay in the Premier League and join Chelsea’s ambitious project under their new management.
‎Whether Chelsea are willing to meet Manchester United’s valuation remains to be seen. With several top-flight clubs monitoring the situation, the summer transfer window could see Garnacho at the center of a high-profile Premier League tug-of-war.
