‎Manchester United Close to €20m Deal for Senne Lammens as Ruben Amorim Reshapes Squad

‎Manchester United are closing in on their next major signing, with Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens set to join Ruben Amorim’s side in a deal valued at around €20m (£17m).
‎Supporters have already seen exciting new arrivals this transfer window, with Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha adding attacking quality. Both forwards showed promising signs despite the club’s opening-day defeat to Arsenal, fueling optimism that they will boost United’s frontline as the season progresses.

‎Attention has now shifted to the goalkeeping department following Andre Onana’s inconsistent form and Altay Bayindir’s costly mistake against Arsenal. The club is also preparing for Onana’s absence during the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon, which will rule him out during a crucial stage of the campaign.
‎Senne Lammens has emerged as the preferred solution. Reports from The Guardian indicate that United are finalizing a €20m agreement for the 23-year-old Belgium U21 international, with personal terms already understood to be in place. Standing 6ft 3in, Lammens progressed through Club Brugge’s academy before joining Antwerp in 2022, where he made his Champions League debut the same year.
‎The transfer has not yet been fully completed, but expectations are high that Lammens will provide direct competition for the No.1 role at Old Trafford, ensuring Amorim has depth and stability in a key position.
‎Alongside transfer developments, Amorim continues to address the situation with United’s so-called “bomb squad.” Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia remain separated from the main group, with exits yet to be confirmed. The manager has reiterated that reintegration could still occur once the transfer window closes.
