‎Raheem Sterling Rejects Saudi and MLS Moves as Chelsea Exit Plans Stall Until January

‎Raheem Sterling has chosen to remain in London after rejecting lucrative transfer offers from Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Major League Soccer. The 30-year-old forward is prepared to wait until the January transfer window to secure a move, even if it means four months without competitive football.

‎Chelsea explored potential exits for Sterling before the summer deadline, but no deal was finalized, according to The Standard. The winger, who values stability for his young family, has no plans to relocate abroad and will continue training separately from the main squad at Cobham.
‎Sterling is now part of Chelsea’s so-called “bomb squad,” a group of players excluded from first-team plans. Alongside him are others who were unable to complete transfers before the window closed, with manager Enzo Maresca not expected to reintegrate them into his plans.
‎Talks with Fulham and tentative interest from West Ham highlighted Sterling’s desire to remain in the capital. However, neither club pursued a late bid, leaving the England international in limbo at Stamford Bridge. Terminating his contract has been mentioned as a drastic solution, but such a move appears unlikely due to the financial implications for Chelsea.
‎Sterling remains focused on contributing to the England national team under Thomas Tuchel, with his sights set on the 2026 World Cup. A move within London remains his priority in January, with Fulham, West Ham, or another capital club seen as possible destinations once the market reopens.
