Chelsea Outclass Crystal Palace: Estevao and Joao Pedro Lead 3-1 Win in Top-Four Charge
Chelsea’s youthful Brazilian duo delivered an eye-catching performance as the Blues defeated Crystal Palace 3-1 on Sunday to strengthen their push for a Champions League place. A sensational opener from Estevao Willian set the tone, Joao Pedro struck early in the second half, and Enzo Fernandez converted a penalty to put the contest beyond doubt. Palace, reduced to ten men after Adam Wharton’s sending-off, could only manage a late consolation.

The Eagles nearly struck first inside ten minutes when Mateta and Sarr combined to steal possession from Badiashile near the edge of the area. Mateta drove forward and tested Sanchez, but the Chelsea goalkeeper stood firm to deny the hosts.
The deadlock was broken shortly after the half-hour when Estevao punished a misplaced back pass. Bursting through on goal, he shrugged off Mitchell and hammered a spectacular finish past Henderson to give Chelsea the lead.
With few clear chances before the interval, the visitors struck again soon after the restart. Estevao clipped a clever pass over the defence for Pedro, who controlled, slipped past Wharton, and blasted home to double Chelsea’s advantage.
Estevao continued to dominate proceedings, forcing Henderson into an acrobatic save with a curling effort. Moments later, Chelsea were awarded a penalty when Canvot handled Pedro’s blocked shot. Fernandez stepped up and coolly placed his effort low into the corner.
Palace’s misery deepened when Wharton was dismissed for a second booking following a late challenge on Caicedo. Richards eventually pulled one back late on, but Chelsea were already in full control and secured a deserved three points to move above Liverpool in the league table.
