Lewandowski Enters Elite Champions League Circle with Ronaldo, Kane and Neymar
Robert Lewandowski has written another chapter into Champions League history by placing himself alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane and Neymar in an exclusive scoring bracket. The Barcelona striker delivered once again on the European stage during his side’s clash with Slavia Prague.

In that encounter, the Polish forward found himself involved at both ends of the pitch, but it was his contribution in front of goal that truly mattered. His strike pushed his Barcelona tally in elite European competition beyond the 20-goal mark, confirming his place among a very select group.
Only a handful of football’s finest have managed to score 20 or more Champions League goals for two different clubs. Lewandowski’s journey began with Bayern Munich, where he accumulated 69 goals before making his move to Catalonia in 2022.
Since arriving at Camp Nou, he has maintained that standard, hitting double figures in Europe last season and now surpassing 20 overall for the Spanish giants. His latest effort came in a hard-earned 4-2 triumph over Slavia Prague, a contest that also featured an own goal before Barcelona sealed victory.
Cristiano Ronaldo was the first to reach this landmark with multiple clubs, shining for both Manchester United and Real Madrid. Harry Kane followed after scoring consistently for Tottenham and Bayern Munich, while Neymar achieved the feat during spells at Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
Lewandowski has now matched that achievement and extended another impressive run by scoring in a 15th straight Champions League campaign. Ronaldo once reached 16 consecutive seasons, while Lionel Messi and Karim Benzema remain the benchmarks with 18.
Speaking after breaking his European drought for the 2025-26 campaign on his sixth attempt, Lewandowski admitted relief: “Finally the first goal came. Hopefully it will get easier now.”
His first Champions League goal dates back to 2011 when he was with Borussia Dortmund, and since then his standards have scarcely dipped. Across all UEFA competitions, he now boasts 114 goals, placing him third on the all-time list behind Messi on 132 and Ronaldo on 145.
Despite his achievements, uncertainty surrounds his future. At 37, Lewandowski’s contract is edging towards expiry, and speculation continues linking him with a potential move to Major League Soccer, possibly alongside Lionel Messi at Inter Miami.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick acknowledged the uncertainty, saying: “I don’t know where Robert Lewandowski will be next season. I’m really happy with him, but we’ll decide at the end of the season.”
The striker himself has remained cautious, stating in December 2025: “I still have time to make a decision. Right now, I don’t know where I want to play. There’s no pressure.”
He also hinted that finances are not the deciding factor: “It’s not about cutting my salary in half. A lot depends on the club’s plan and what I want.”
Reports now suggest Barcelona are willing to consider a one-year extension, largely because no clear replacement has been secured. Ferran Torres has often filled the central role, but competition remains vital as Flick rotates his squad while chasing silverware.
There has even been talk of interest in Harry Kane, who has clauses in his Bayern Munich contract and once replaced Lewandowski in Germany. The same succession could happen again should Barcelona move in that direction.
