Tottenham Consider Thomas Frank Sacking After West Ham Loss as Spurs Fans Demand Change
Tottenham Hotspur are said to be assessing whether to continue with Thomas Frank as head coach following another damaging result in an increasingly troubled season. Spurs were beaten 2-1 at home by West Ham United on Saturday, despite the visitors sitting 18th in the Premier League and five points from safety.

The defeat sparked anger inside the stadium, with supporters directing their frustration at the former Brentford manager after the final whistle. It came just days after Tottenham were knocked out of the FA Cup by Aston Villa, compounding a miserable period for the club.
The London derby appeared set to end level before Callum Wilson struck in injury time to hand West Ham all three points. Moments later, boos rang around the stadium and fans were heard chanting “you’re getting sacked in the morning,” underlining the growing unrest.
According to a report from The Times, Tottenham are now weighing up a managerial change after a run of just one win in eight matches across all competitions. The club are also battling a mounting injury crisis, while the January transfer window is rapidly closing with little time to reinforce an already depleted squad.
Despite the speculation, Frank insisted after the match that he continues to have the backing of the club’s leadership group.
Reacting to the hostile atmosphere, Frank acknowledged the supporters’ frustration. He said he understood the reaction, noting the pain of losing at home to a major London rival and admitting it was not a pleasant experience. He stressed that the players worked tirelessly, particularly in the second half, and hoped fans could see the effort being made.
Frank accepted responsibility for the results, stating that as the manager, blame naturally falls on him. He said he had no issue with that, as long as the players continue to receive support, adding that the team would keep pushing forward.
He also admitted the current period is difficult but remained confident that results will improve. Frank said support from fans inevitably drops when wins do not come, but insisted that momentum would shift again once victories return, something he believes will happen.
Pointing to recent defeats against Bournemouth, Aston Villa and West Ham, Frank argued that the performances still show commitment. He said if the players had stopped running or working hard, criticism would be justified, but maintained that the team remains competitive and fully committed.
Frank added that he feels supported throughout the club, explaining that everyone shares the same objective of long-term success. While many positive things are happening behind the scenes, he acknowledged that results remain the decisive factor.
Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock also weighed in on the situation while speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live. He said supporters appear to have reached breaking point and want change, not only within the club’s hierarchy but specifically in the managerial position. Warnock added that there was immense pressure on both managers during the match, with West Ham boss Nuno Espírito Santo emerging on top.
Looking ahead, the outlook remains bleak for Frank. A challenging run of fixtures lies ahead, and despite a promising start to his tenure six months ago, there is little sign of immediate improvement. A midweek win against Borussia Dortmund would offer relief, but the upcoming trip to Burnley is causing greater concern.
Burnley recently earned a point at Anfield, and another defeat to a relegation-threatened side at Turf Moor would represent a deeply embarrassing setback for Tottenham and could further accelerate decisions regarding Frank’s future.
