‎Andy Carroll Pleads Not Guilty in Court Over Alleged Non-Molestation Order Breach Case

‎Former Liverpool and England forward Andy Carroll has attended court proceedings where he entered a not-guilty plea to accusations of breaching a non-molestation order connected to his former wife, Billi Mucklow. The 37-year-old footballer, currently playing for National League South club Dagenham & Redbridge, has been granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 4.

‎The case relates to Carroll’s arrest in April 2025 following an alleged incident in March of the same year. A non-molestation order is typically issued by courts to stop an individual from contacting another person and can also prevent visits to certain locations. Prosecutors allege Carroll repeatedly phoned Mucklow, though he denied the claim when appearing at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court. He attended the hearing using crutches after undergoing surgery on a leg injury.
‎Deputy district judge Roy Brown granted Carroll bail with strict conditions, including an order not to communicate with Mucklow. The judge warned that breaching those bail terms could lead to arrest and detention. The striker is expected to face trial at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 4, and if convicted, potential penalties could range from financial fines to a prison sentence of up to five years.
‎Carroll began his professional football journey with Newcastle United, helping the club secure promotion to the Premier League in 2010. After maintaining strong form the following season, he completed a high-value transfer to Liverpool. His time at Anfield proved challenging, producing six goals in 44 matches, leading to a loan move to West Ham before signing permanently in 2013.
‎Following his West Ham period, Carroll returned to Newcastle before later playing for Reading and West Bromwich Albion. He also spent time in France with Amiens and Bordeaux. The striker, who has earned nine England caps during his career, returned to England in 2025 to join Dagenham & Redbridge on a free transfer and has made 13 league appearances this season.
‎Currently, Carroll is sidelined due to injury after recent surgery. He shared an Instagram message stating he hopes to return to action for Dagenham & Redbridge soon, adding that the surgery on his fracture and ligaments was successful and thanking his surgeon. His next court appearance will take place on March 4 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
