Liverpool fans FURIOUS as Reds are denied in last-ever Goodison Park derby as Everton snatch draw before crazy full-time scenes

Liverpool fans slammed their fierce rivals Everton after the Reds were denied a win in the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

The final Merseyside derby at Everton's iconic old home concluded on a passionate note, with the hosts holding Liverpool to a 2-2 draw thanks to a last-minute equaliser from James Tarkowski. The English defender's brilliant half-volley in the 98th minute was cleared after a VAR decision for offside, but replays revealed Ibrahima Konate may have been shoved in the penalty area.

Following the match, Reds manager Arne Slot confronted referee Michael Oliver and was promptly issued a straight red card, while Abdoulaye Doucoure provoked a brawl in which he and Curtis Jones were also shown red.

Liverpool fans were furious after the dismal result, slamming their opposition players for denying them a victory.

An X handler named AnfieldRd96 wrote: "Liverpool leads the league, Everton celebrates a 2-2 tie. That's the distinction, you nasty, horrible, dreadful pr*cks."

Beto opened the goal for Everton before Alexis Mac Allister got the visitors back into the game in the 16th minute. Mohamed Salah then put his team ahead for the first time in the game in the 73rd minute, but Tarkowski's spectacular shot ended Reds' hopes. Despite surrendering two critical points at home to their opponents, Slot's team maintains a strong seven-point advantage at the top of the Premier League table.

The Reds will return to Premier League action on Sunday, hosting Wolves in an important clash at Anfield.
